A Travel Guide to the Adelaide Airport

If you are headed to South Australia, you are most likely to land at the Adelaide Airport. This facility is used to transporting several millions of passengers in any given year. The world-class features and facilities of the airport give it the mark of high quality service and modernity. In fact, the Adelaide airport is named as the second best international airport in the world.

The Adelaide Airport is located in Schofield Drive in South Australia. It is roughly four miles away from the city center. To get into town, take the Sir Richard Williams Drive for around 3 miles then onto the Sir Donald Bradman Drive, which will eventually take you to heart of Adelaide.

From the Adelaide Airport, you can take the bus line called JetBus to get you to your actual destination. JetBus is operated by Adelaide Metro. There's a shuttle bus available as well and they're called the Skylink Adelaide. These buses could take you to the town center quite easily. The shuttle fare is less than $50 for a one person, one-way rate from the airport to any point in town. For families and big groups, higher rates should be expected.

If you would like to hire a car to take you around town, there are car rental companies with offices at the airport like Thrifty, Budget, Hertz, and Avis. You can find their offices right at the airport's car park. If you would rather drive away upon arrival without the need sign up forms, you can simply apply for a car online. Choose the vehicle to take you around town. And collect it from the office right after your plane has landed. This is the most convenient way to move around Adelaide.

If you would rather take the taxi, you can find them parked at the taxi ranks. It would take you around 15 minutes to travel from the airport to the city center. The taxis are metered so there's no risk of overcharging. However, the driver may take the longer route to town in order to charge you relatively higher for the trip.
