If you wish to drive your car along the the A561 you can reach Liverpool city in around 30 minutes depending on traffic as the city is around 9 miles away. Southport a seaside resort is around 1 hour drive away and is 30 miles in distance. The city of Manchester is around 30 miles and again around 1 hour driving depending on traffic. The motorways close by are M56 and M62.
Train
The train station closest to the airport is Liverpool South Parkway. An express shuttle bus operates from the airport to the station. The station can offer train connections from Liverpool to other cities in England such as Manchester, Preston, Birmingham.
Bus
Passengers can board a bus and coach outside the airport terminal building. The bus service which drops passengers off in the city centre is the 500 air link. Tickets can be purchased from the driver. For travellers wishing to take a bus to the train station they would catch a 501 air link bus. Other local bus services stop off at the airport on route to the suburbs.
Taxi
The black hackney taxi can be used as a mode of cab transport from the airport's front terminal building to the town centre and beyond. At present the cost is 15.00 GBP for the journey into the city centre and passengers can pay by cash, debit card or credit card.
